Italian authorities seized more than $232 million in assets connected to the late Cosa Nostra figure Matteo Messina Denaro. The operation, led by the Guardia di Finanza and announced on Thursday, targeted holdings across multiple countries tied to drug trafficking and money laundering. Denaro was arrested in Palermo in January 2023 after 30 years at large and died later that year.
