Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced she will not attend the Michigan Democratic Party’s Aug. 29 nominating convention in Lansing, citing safety concerns. The decision follows pro-Palestinian activist disruptions at an earlier party event and the nomination of Abdul El-Sayed, a candidate critical of Israel, over Rep. Haley Stevens. El-Sayed later apologized for a remark concerning a synagogue attack.
