On August 28, 2026, President Donald Trump awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the four Artemis II crew members at NASA's Johnson Space Center. The crew completed a lunar flyby in April aboard NASA's new rocket. Trump also announced and signed an executive order creating a U.S. Space Academy whose location remains undecided.
