Framing Analysis
A majority of Shasta County voters passed Measure B, which requires single-day in-person elections, restricts absentee ballots, mandates photo identification, and requires hand counts. The measure was approved despite 85 percent of local voters using mail ballots in recent elections. The ACLU, League of Women Voters, and California attorney general’s office have stated that the measure violates state law and are monitoring or preparing potential legal action.
