Typhoon Bavi made landfall in eastern China's Zhejiang province before weakening to a tropical storm and moving into Anhui province, according to CBS News reporting. Chinese authorities evacuated more than 2.2 million people in Zhejiang, 290,000 in Shanghai, and 180,000 in Fujian, while canceling approximately 653 flights at Shanghai airports. The storm passed north of Taiwan without direct landfall and produced heavy rain, toppled trees, and coastal waves.
