Ukrainian officials stated that domestically produced FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck the VNIIR-Progress plant in Cheboksary, Russia, on the night of the reported attack. The facility, located approximately 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, produces drone and missile components and is under sanctions from Ukraine, the US, and the EU. Both President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and regional governor Oleg Nikolayev confirmed the strike occurred.
