X's Safety team announced on Thursday the identification of approximately 200,000 accounts, of which 200 were actively posting content on AI data centers' impact on electricity grids and utility prices. The posts, including cartoons about data-center operators, are described by the platform as a suspected Chinese influence operation. A June letter from the House Energy and Commerce Committee had requested briefings on foreign propaganda related to U.S. AI development.
